As per usual with my family, I haven't managed to run on time with my christmas plans this year.
This was mostly helped along by my older sisters "absolutely necessary" party, which involved many days of physical labour and as much time as possible to retreat into sleep.
Anyway, presents still haven't been sent off. I'm off to the post office with them tomorrow.
Sorry about lateness...then again they aren't exactly christmas presents, more like holiday appreciation gifts anyway (that come wrapped in xmas wrapping paper).
Most of you should get them within a month (maybe 2 since Canada can't seem to get packages to people in less than that)

Oh julzbat we need to meet up soon. I'm working the 29th, but am otherwise free. Let me know your plans...

EDIT: GAH! Slept in and managed to miss the post. Guess I'll be sending them off after everything opens again in a couple of days. Sorry

I love the end of the uni year.
I am now officially back around.
No more uni, assignments or (hopefully) stress for the next 3 months.

Fantastic 4:Rise of the Silver Surfer
Rather questionable spoilers...

Finally went and saw the movie today with julzbat.
A LOT better than I expected after hearing the reviews.
Having only seen the first movie for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I was fairly fresh on my take and would even lean towards the 2nd movie being better.
They both have their weaknesses in terms of canon-ness, but I felt the romance in the first movie really overtook the actual plot (which is a pet hat romantic sub-plot is not supposed to be THE plot of the movie), while in the 2nd movie, because it's an established relationship...although it has it's quirks and screen time it's not the in your face eye-gazing.
Would have loved for more "extraordinary powers" screentime, but what they had worked.
Overall pretty good acting, and character interactions. PLus it's nice to see our long term supervillains can focus more than on their own desires for world domination when there is about to be NO world...NOT (and the USA government/military was once again shown in a somehwat negative light).

Mmmm...also managed to get the delicious vegetable pie that's always sold out (first time I've had it in almost 2 years, darn it's delicious)

NB...do you know that lj works a whole lot better when you remember to press the POST button at the bottom of the screen *shakes head at own stupidity*

Soo...I went and saw the Transformers movie today with a uni friend.
As per my normal routine I was almost late and was speeding along never before travelled roads in pouring rain...FUN!
The movie was actually a lot of fun and a great watch.
♥ Bumblebee (though I prefer him when he's googly-eyed and not talking)
The 2 main male characters were quite a lot of fun, though Sam required about 30minutes to be really cool and interesting. The main female character was also very fun, especially as when she first appeared on the scene my immediate thought was "Oh no! Not another useless romantic interest." But she came through and was her own kind of kick ass.

For the actual plot...well it was non-stop action and some great humour. Not the most indepth plot of course, and they didn't even bother to try and cover the entirety of transformers history (or so my Transformer-fanatic friend tells me). He also mentioned that they totally ruined some of the "truths of transformers". But yeah, a good movie in and of itself, though it will probably be getting the hard-core Transformer fans a bit riled.

Oh and they seem to have ruled out the possibilty of a sequel (whether that's a good or bad point is up to you I suppose)

...so how's that for a thumbs up or thumbs down julzbat?

Soooo....I haven't been on lj (and actually tawled my friends list) for months and I finally have the time to do so and what's popped up...?

Lucky enough, LJ seem to be sorting out the problem and communicating with fans. Restoration of those journals actually deleted mistakenally will be back. No more need for fandom panic I hope.

As for FanLib, not my cup of tea, doesn't even sound like a good idea. Agree with some of the abject horror people have expressed, disagree with a lot of the hysteria. (Am most amused when I was trawling through their forums that a lot of the people who were up and up saying "Why aren't you guys supporting it like us?" were young teens and college students with quite a few of them new to fandom and "proud of it")



Well, now onto the reason I was actually going to update my lj.

I *big dramatic drum roll* have finished with uni for the session.
Still 2 more weeks until exams are over. But as of now, no more assignments.
*big grin*
This will probably change in to a vaguely bored and stressed look as exams approach

Oh, and the best part...
I was running on 3.5hours of sleep yesterday (bed at 2:30, up at 6am...with a major rush on to get as much done before the power went off in our neighbourhood until 5 that afternoon and then a rush to uni to stake a claim on a uni computer), stressed to the brink with an assignment worth 40% of my final mark counting down the hours and an exam worth 25% counting down the hours even faster. So I finally had to scurry off to my exam and walked past a mirror...
I looked so psychotically happy

So weird. I was kind of expecting abject horror, not evil glee.

Drove my sibling to see it with julzbat (on 3.5hours sleep and my older sister was complaining she was tired on a full 8 hours...sheesh!) Made the day all good and happy and full of Jack.

Am kinda numb. I'm 2 decades old in 23 hours.
Which is just strange, as I'll have to stop thinking people are generalizing me in with their derogatory teenager comments.

Rightio, it's back to the assignments due tomorrow and before the end of the week.

I'll have to schedule in some time for non uni related stuff on the computer soon as a birthday present to myself.

...surprisingly enough I actually have one.

I am not a political follower, and generally thought when I was younger that my votes would be a choice of eenie-meanie-miney-moe (may be a slight exaggeration, but the basic ideas was there).
The current Australian politics is geared towards grabbing your votes NOW for the STATE election this weekend, and the FEDERAL election at the end of the year. All of the parties are promising rubbish, that won't be kept (although the promise of an up to date high speed broadband network is tempting) as always.

Yet my main political agenda is don't vote liberal and get John Howard out of a position of power.
The man has been in power long enough (let alone the fact he is a Gollum look-alike, is thorougly embarassing to see on TV [why the news went to HIM about Australia's chances in the FIFA world cup I'll NEVER know] and is making it harder and less desirable to join the work force than ever)
This opinion is basically followed by everyone I know. They don't care who, they just want him out. (Everyone else votes as their parents did, or are high stakes rollers seemingly)

*sighs and shakes head*
His latest news piece involved his stance on our soldiers in Afghanistan (which I half half agree with). There was, however, NO NEED for him to be wearing a LEATHER JACKET.

It was seriously creepy. *shudders*

On a side note, I can't wait to have a female prime minister which is DEFINITELY not happening with a liberal government any time soon (at least labor would have a female deputy...which would then hopefully roost Rudd from office too).

Okie, yep, so this is slightly nervous rambling.

I'm into the Doctor's tomorrow for minor surgery.
Oh joy for the removal of some suspicious looking moles.

It was a snap decision on monday after going to the local GP who said I can't play sport right afterwards and now is my basketballs team's break between seasons (please read knocked out of the competition before the semifinals...although that was totally unfair because we had won more games than the team that placed 4th and only lost the same amount. I see a conspiracy...or not, but it is aweful anyway.)

...I just hate needles and have a feeling the same thing is going to apply to having a scalpel cutting into me while I'm conscious. (*cries* I want a general anaesthetic please)
Yes. I am indeed a big baby when it comes to these things

One off my stomach and the other off my back. The one off my stomach will be no problem, but he says the one on my back will be problematic as it's directly on my spine and I don't have any excess layers between my spine and my skin...

Also with one on the front and one on the back it means i will not be able to sleep one other of them for while...I can see problems arising now :(

The Dr. went on for a really long time about how the one on my back has about a 90% chance of giving me an ugly scar. As I can't see that part of my back most of the time I don't really care, but it gave me some fun mental images where this great mass of scar tissue awoke and began crawling over my back as it attempted to possess my body (unfortunately that will not be happening and it will still be me going to Uni next week. *whines* Oh future scar tissue how you fail me.) I'm hoping for something interesting like a galaxy shape or something.

Oh, and apparently arm lifting and the such will be forbidden so depending on the pain and progress of healing I might not see you for a while (which won't be that different from usual...but usually I just stalk everyone's journals quietly looking for moments to pounce find something I can relate to [and am not too late for], to comment on.)

OK…so AonE and AniKraze in the past week have been a very busy group and released the last 4 episodes of KKM, with the last 2 just being released in the last couple of days.

Ahhhhh, it makes the fangirl in me soooo happy.
