Just dropping by between assignments.

Am kinda numb. I'm 2 decades old in 23 hours.
Which is just strange, as I'll have to stop thinking people are generalizing me in with their derogatory teenager comments.

err...Happy Birthday to Me

Rightio, it's back to the assignments due tomorrow and before the end of the week.

I'll have to schedule in some time for non uni related stuff on the computer soon as a birthday present to myself.

Hope everyone is having fun and doing great.
Love you all lots, and miss you heaps.
Ja.

Yo,
(hmm, I really wish I had a face mask, headband and tragic past to pull that off in the appropriate Kakashi-esque fashion)

Ah, right, there was a purpose to this post...(it's really bad that fan!japanese popped up in my head to remind me of this point)

Okie, yep, so this is slightly nervous rambling.

I'm into the Doctor's tomorrow for minor surgery.
Oh joy for the removal of some suspicious looking moles.

It was a snap decision on monday after going to the local GP who said I can't play sport right afterwards and now is my basketballs team's break between seasons (please read knocked out of the competition before the semifinals...although that was totally unfair because we had won more games than the team that placed 4th and only lost the same amount. I see a conspiracy...or not, but it is aweful anyway.)

...I just hate needles and have a feeling the same thing is going to apply to having a scalpel cutting into me while I'm conscious. (*cries* I want a general anaesthetic please)
Yes. I am indeed a big baby when it comes to these things

One off my stomach and the other off my back. The one off my stomach will be no problem, but he says the one on my back will be problematic as it's directly on my spine and I don't have any excess layers between my spine and my skin...

Also with one on the front and one on the back it means i will not be able to sleep one other of them for while...I can see problems arising now :(

The Dr. went on for a really long time about how the one on my back has about a 90% chance of giving me an ugly scar. As I can't see that part of my back most of the time I don't really care, but it gave me some fun mental images where this great mass of scar tissue awoke and began crawling over my back as it attempted to possess my body (unfortunately that will not be happening and it will still be me going to Uni next week. *whines* Oh future scar tissue how you fail me.) I'm hoping for something interesting like a galaxy shape or something.

Oh, and apparently arm lifting and the such will be forbidden so depending on the pain and progress of healing I might not see you for a while (which won't be that different from usual...but usually I just stalk everyone's journals quietly looking for moments to pounce find something I can relate to [and am not too late for], to comment on.)

Gah!

Needles!

Maybe I should have saved it for my next break...which is like next year...

*curses*

Dang nabbit, no more rational decisions about my health.

*crawls off into a dark hole*

Ahaha, this one amuses me so much, especially as one of the questions is 'do you like the cold' and I had a definite no as my answer.
Though it probably suits my personlity best.

Mmmm. Superheroes and villains. So happy with some of the recent TV shows. I'm just a sucker for superpowers.

Soo, finally catching up with my flist after...well, almost 2 weeks.

Still haven't replied to most comments (inbox is terrifying, will attempt to make a dent in it over the weekend)

For people of the FFVII fandom, who can enjoy a good piece of crack, I direct you towards the Cactiroth Manifesto

http://community.livejournal.com/ffvii_yaoi/394277.html

...I remember pimping a couple of these fic pieces in this journal earlier on. I DO so enjoy crack. Especially when it is traumatising to other people (sort of like that Santa, reindeer, shota manga piece I ran across...some people are just WEIRD!!)

On a completely random side note: a cucumber attacked me tonight.

Ouch!

My eye is killing me.

It had deadly aim, straight from my hand and into my eyeball.

Mum wouldn't stop laughing, although she did ask fd I needed a cold washer. However when I said yes she made me stumble blindly around the house to find one.

Sadist!

And on a sidetracked note: Earthsea, the 'movie'...not bad in and of itself. Just overly simplified and under/over acted (except for Vetch...Vetch was cool) and American style cheesy romance (UGH!!!)

Rightio,
Um, remember when i said I'd be sending the cards off on Thursday last week...?
Well there has been a bit of a delay, as just before I sent them a light bulb clicked on, and for my thoughtlessness I have been kicking myself.
...does anyone know what the import/customs restrictions are in their country?
So...from the research I've been able to work out that I'm going to have to redo all of them again.
Sorry.
I will get them sent to you all shortly.

edit: yes, I meant cars, I am THAT rich...oh boy, don't I wish that was true. I meant cards!

Write a journal entry for this meme with six random facts about yourself. Then, pick six of your friends list and tag them - no tag backs. These rules should be included in your entry.

1.During exam study periods I find new and inventive ways to procrastinate. Looking at the wall blankly and sleeping have been long time favourites, though the most time consuming one tends to be finding new fandoms to explore or re-exploring old ones.

2. I'm semi-paranoid in all social settings, sure that I'm annoying someone, somehow and thus have the constant feeling I'm imposing on people. So I am awkward and tend to be very quiet in conversations unless the person I'm talking to has somehow made me feel comfortable with them. It is why I can only keep or maintain a few friends long term.

3.I think my toes don't click...but every other major joint in my body does. My shoulder blades click...which is technically anatomically impossible as there are no joints in your shoulder blades, but mine click anyway. Oh joy!

4. The last time I wore a skirt/dress was on my last day of high school (2 years ago). The last day I wore a skirt/dress without wearing pants underneath was 13 years ago...I love shorts/pants

5.I had a constant low grade head ache from the age of 10 until 17, with sporadic sharp pain peaks, until they finally agreed with what we'd been saying for 5 years and put me on migraine medication. At east it gave me a high pain threshold, right?

6. I am a book worm. I love reading, the images I get from words is better than anything I ever actually see. I just wish there were more books with decent plots around, without the female characters being 2D or destroyed by romance.

Tagging...well, do I even have 6 friends on lj...well actually I probably do, but if you're like me most of the time you won't be bothered to do the meme unless you want to anyway, so tagged if you want to be.

And to celebrate a meme completed I am announcing I am G.O.N.E until after my exams. So I'll see you all in 2 weeks, though I'm contactable if you know how and any unlikely desperation for my company can be recieved by leaving a post on lj as I'll check my email every couple of days anyway.

Love you all! I go to stress.

Ok, more accurately I'm probably going bird watching, but it works out to the same level of boredom probably.

Will be gone until the 3rd-ish of Oct. EST

I really don't want to go, so hopefully everyone will be having fun here without me *sigh*

Ok, so here's te deal.

Yesterday, Sydney was buffeted by gale force winds.

Extremely beautiful to wake up to. The sound of the wind whistling through the gorge and bending trees 90 degrees. Stunning! When I got out of bed I spent half an hour just watching it.

Then we lost power.

From what my sister saw, it seems like the substation blew up. Yes, you read right. Blew up. She was driving past and all of a sudden there were sparks and flames shooting up everywehere. Luckily it was self contained, so no big fire resulted from it.

There was however 2 other big fires in close proximity to our house (close relatively ~15km, with gale force winds and the like).

So the sky was a beautiful orange/brown, and the air caught in your throat it was so thick with smoke.

So we had no power, which (because we're on tank water)meant we had no water, were listening to a battery operated radio as they talked about the fires getting closer to our place and basically raging out of control, telling people to prepare their properties in case of fire (remember we had no water) and in the late afternoon there was a cautious call to prepare for evacuation.

My, that was fun.

So now my family has packed up their most precious belongings in one bag, sitting around the radio (which seemed most concerned about the fact that the nearest big city had, "Oh my" lost power to 30,000 homes, not the fact that there were fires threatening people in a less poopulated area.

*sigh*

Luckily they DID get the fire under control, so no evacuation.

Yet we were still without power all night and they promised us power this morning.

Still no power (and thus no water).

And they have no time when they think they'll have power back in the region. Could be a couple of hours, could be next week!

(Thus why I am now camped out at my older sister's place for the day, mostly so I can shower, but also so I can cook food. Cold dinner in a room barely illuminated by candles wasn't exactly on my list of desired for the moment)

But it's so STUPID.

Ok I understand, I mean, sure you want to get the major populated areas up and running, but in terms of needs, I think they should have prioritised a little bit better.

We have NO water! NONE!

Should be a bit higher on your list of priorities that we do have water.

Che!

I'm really hoping they get round to fixing us up really soon, otherwise we're going to lose a couple of thousand dollars worth of foods that are currently being stored in our fridges and refrigerators.

Gah!

So anyway, if you don't hear from me, you know why.

Love you all.

What a great way to start my break from uni.

EDIT Ok, I now have power and internet acces again. YAY!
