Hey hoo,

Guess, what?

Yes, this is Arccie actually speaking. I'm not dead. (groans of disappointment are not appreciated thank you very much!!!)

I've started working on my fanfics again, so I'll try and be productive and actually publish something in my other journal sometime soon. I feel like such a slacker. I think it's been about 3 months since I actually did any writing (and I have soo forgotten my writing style, I've mangled it with other influences)

Anyway, I need some help to pick out my christmas present. I'm shipping over an anime boxset, but I don't know what to choose. Any help or thoughts at all will be of great help.

What do I like in an anime series?
Well, pretty (slashable) boys are always appreciated.
Good quality art/animation (preeety is good)
Good plot line, with an acceptable satisfying end (no...build up to the climax, build up build up and then "flop")...and when I mean plot, I mean actual plot PoT crack story lines are OK, but EXCEL saga, not really my thing.
I probably prefer action series, or at least series that have a fair deal of actionable scenes (I like Fruits Basket, but examining my collection it seems one of the rare series that isn't full of action)
Oh, and preferable main characters that aren't annoying i.e. don't want to make me smother myself with a pillow in embarassment of them or that spend the entire time bragging.

This is the list of possible animes:

(ones I actually know something about)
Outlaw Star
Samurai Deeper Kyo
Rurouni Kenshin
Escaflowne
Rahxephon
Sorcerer Hunters
Peacemaker
Pilot Candidate
GadGuard
Wolf's Rain
Generator Gawl
Chrono Crusade
Hack Sign
Arjuna

(ones I've heard are good, but know nothing about)
Berserk
Irresponsible Captain Tylor
Yukikaze
Lodoss War
Aquarian Age
Betterman
Soul Hunter
Wild Arms
Dai-Guard
Android Kikaider
Kaleido Star
Key the Metal Idol

...Yes I know that's a long list, but I'm an indecisive person, and I'm all like "ooh ANIME!"

Any other series recommendations would be cool, and I can take them into consideration for birthday and christmas's later on.
I really want GSeed, Saiyuki and Soukyu no Fafner (the main character is so almost another Kira), but as no box sets, it's too expensive to get them shipped over here.

Oh christmas time, oh christmas time, why are you making my life difficult?

Rurouni Kenshin just looks sooo shiny and action packed and amusing and preety...

For me it's price inflations (who wants to pay $30 for a DVD with only 3 episodes on it, the one and only Australian anime provider is in desperate need of competition) and the fcat that the american:australian dollar ratio could be a lot nicer.

and if it was your whole world, who's really blaming you

^_^

It's preeettyyyyyyyyyyy~ Yes.

THIRTY BUCKS FOR THREE FREAKING EPISODES?! *patpat* (you can come visit singapore...even though anime rates here suck like shit too.)

hehehh. but it would be a very nice world, ne?

Preeety ist good!

The prices in Australia are so freaking unreal as to be ridiculous, just because there's only the one anime ancoding company here.
*sad sigh*
What's worse is the fact that they refuse to do any of the yaoi animes. They've even refused to do Gravitation and Yami no Matsuei (which are really very tame) because they don't think it has an audience (I think they believe only teenage boys watch anime).
so ANNOYING.
I will get to Singapore oneday, spend all my money on anime, see the sights, buy anime...you know the usual
;)

a world based onanime would be like a dream come true, stupid society that requires us to do work in RL

Oh dear...I don't think they do any of the yaoi stuff in Singapore either. They do sell Gravitation the manga, though. At highly overpriced rates.

Yeah! I mean, we'd never have to work, we won't be fat, and we get to exercise our voyeuristic tendencies all day long!

Its soo sad.
I mean, first of all the US picks and edits what it decides is suitable for the rest of the english speaking world, and then production companies don't even take on the projects that are really tame...it's not even like they're for hard core yaoi addicts (there's no actual sex "on camera", the impications of the relationship in YnM is barely mentioned...)

now work, no need for healthy diets, only need to exercise for recreational purposes...and watch smut, as well as some other stuff, all day...ahhh paradise...BTW whyare we talking about this under strikes?

The US does?! ...*checks box set* Doesn't say anything clearly here, honestly. I haven't watched/read YnM yet.

*sigghhhh* no work, lots of chocolates and ice cream and fattening things but we'd still not have to get fat. Heaven, indeed. I have no idea why we're talking under strikes either. Because we like abusing our html?
