SMASH! (Sydney Manga and Anime Show) is a convention by fans for fans. We have a really strong focus on creativity from artists to cosplayers to authors.
SMASH! is running a fanfiction competition for those interested in taking a bit of creative license to canon (or possibly throwing it right out the window).
Take your favourite series or characters and shape and twist them to your heart’s content.
Entries will be judged by a panel of reputable fanfiction authors, chosen for their skills and knowledge of a broad range of fandoms.
To be in on the action, have a look at the fandom list (you’re sure to know at least one of them), and pick one of our prompts to use as broadly as you like to write your fanfic. The skies the limits for what you choose to write (any scene, any pairing), but all fanfics must be rated G or PG. In other news...yes I know I still fail at updating. I've picked up more work shifts and am starting to try and pull together my project outline for my honours. Also banging my head against the idiosyncrasies of computers (particularly those which run windows OS on top of the apple OS) *sighs* (9hours straight today with only minor progress)
I'm around on occasion...and occasionally manage to reply to people's posts.
But I still love you all.

Tardiness is a different sort of disease
Dec. 24th, 2007 12:51 amAs per usual with my family, I haven't managed to run on time with my christmas plans this year.
This was mostly helped along by my older sisters "absolutely necessary" party, which involved many days of physical labour and as much time as possible to retreat into sleep.
Anyway, presents still haven't been sent off. I'm off to the post office with them tomorrow.
Sorry about lateness...then again they aren't exactly christmas presents, more like holiday appreciation gifts anyway (that come wrapped in xmas wrapping paper).
Most of you should get them within a month (maybe 2 since Canada can't seem to get packages to people in less than that)

Anyway I thought I'd do the necessary christmas/season exhange post.
I've been really busy this year, so I haven't really had a lot of time to interact with people and months as a time went between posts and comments. Yet a few of you have managed to make me feel your loving friendship all year, even when I was absent. So I have a few gifts lined up for people.

3)Good slashy or gen. books (particularly fantasy ones) Very sick of unrealistic female characters and the unbelievable romance elements that take over the plot.
4)For all my wonderful friends to have a lovely and much enjoyed christmas/holiday season, full of happiness and fun
Still working on that coming to visit...was almost going to be in North America for your next winter(?) session...but that looks like it's falling through as the government seems willing to offer me money if I start my honours project and run it over christmas next year.
