Christmas/Season wishlist exchange
Dec. 2nd, 2007 01:50 pmWow, I can't believe it's already almost christmas again. Time really flies even when you're not having fun.
Anyway I thought I'd do the necessary christmas/season exhange post.
I've been really busy this year, so I haven't really had a lot of time to interact with people and months as a time went between posts and comments. Yet a few of you have managed to make me feel your loving friendship all year, even when I was absent. So I have a few gifts lined up for people.
Sooo:
danii06
forochel
kasugai_gummie
meitachi
windyhurrice
and of course the also much absent B-kins
Be expecting stuff in your mailbox...probably shortly after christmas (as soon as I hunt down your addresses again). Probably not something on any of your wishlists, but something that reminds me of you.
If anyone else would likerambling incoherency a letter or christmas card, drop me a line with a link to your address and I'll get right on it.
As for my wishlist:
1)Reciprocity is always heart-warming
2)Any fandom shinies you'd like to dedicate to me...:P
Fanfic, icons, etc. are always appreciated in any of a few fandoms...KKM (gen/ConYuu), PoT (Ryoma), Reborn (Gokudera), Oofuri (Mihashi *crows* Duck-boy *cough*), DGM (Allen), ES21 (Hiruma, Sena, Shin)
3)Good slashy or gen. books (particularly fantasy ones) Very sick of unrealistic female characters and the unbelievable romance elements that take over the plot.
4)For all my wonderful friends to have a lovely and much enjoyed christmas/holiday season, full of happiness and fun
Still working on that coming to visit...was almost going to be in North America for your next winter(?) session...but that looks like it's falling through as the government seems willing to offer me money if I start my honours project and run it over christmas next year.
Anyway, for my contact details go here (locked post of course)
*love and hugs for you all*
Psssst, of course all my Australian friends who I'll see soon will get theirs by hand.

on 2007-12-07 01:34 am (UTC)Of course you're there.
Broke isn't fun...but at least you learn to be very tight with your money.
It's just something small to show how I appreciate you and all that...which I hope you can regard as the token it is.
Ooh Chinese New Year Card. Cool!

on 2007-12-11 02:29 pm (UTC)Though not really helpful as a life saving.
I have to say that since this year is the first tiem I've had a job, I've always been pretty good at saving money.
For the entire time I was in high school I basically got away with only buying myself a new swimsuit every couple of years and the odd family and friend b'day and xmas gifts. There are advantages to not growing since I was 14.
I still fit clothes I bought when I was 10.
Note: this is how you save money when you have none...it really doesn't work if you're out to look fashionable.
^_~

on 2007-12-03 01:19 am (UTC)The only thing that's making me hesitant in sending stuff abroad is that the post office is surrounded by hooligans (I get held-up once, when I went there, lost my wallet and my cell phone), so I have gifts for people that should've been sent a long time ago. But I'll try again and not bring much money or a cellphone. :)

:P
I have something else for you and will send the stargate discs along with it. Umm...I have all that's been released so far, but I don't want to overwhelm you
plus if you do appreciate it, it means I have gifts for next year.I was thinking of either up to the end of season 1 or through most of season 2. Let me know if you have a preference.
*stares in horror*
Your post office surroundings is that bad?
*shudders*
If that happened to me I probably wouldn't go near the place again without a very large escort of friends (you know the large beefy ones or even ones for hire...you know, bouncers).
Any effort that doesn't end up with you in a bad situation will be appreciated.
Are you getting much of a break from work, etc. over xmas?

on 2007-12-03 04:36 pm (UTC)By mail you mean real mail? I don't remember giving out my mail address lol ^^;;
(Ask me and I'll give it to you)
What would you like? Shall I draw you a picture and have it printed in A4 and send it off to you? XD (That's the only thing I could think of at the minute) Do you want a ConYuu pic or a Ryoma pic?
It may or may not get sent to you before Xmas (I too, have a lot of stuff to do and am dying over it, but I guess keeping me busy should help make me mainatin on being the saner side 8D otherwise i would start thinking can I do this? How do I get this done, me failure 8D)
PS: I'm honoured to be on your list! ^^ *hugs*

on 2007-12-11 02:25 pm (UTC)Yes, I do mean real mail. Thought it moght be a nice change and will celebrate me having done some work this year (especially as the same circumstances aren't likely to be repeated for a while)
Umm...you still have my email address, right? If you wouldn't mind emailing it to my gmail, it would be much appreciated.
:D
Pictures sound nice, either of those sound wonderful...or anything else you do come up with. It really brightens ones day to recieve some actual mail that isn't bills, fines notices, bank statements or appointment reminders (yes I do have a very sad mail contact list *pouts*)
Not really worried about the xmas deadline...as I don't technically celebrate the holiday. It's more a happy/sharing seasonal thing.
Sane...who needs sane. I would swear sane is only for the unhealthy. (As in normal sane anyway...beacuse if you do decide to go psychotic insane I just may have to be runnign away very fast. Knives are bad *nods solemnly*)
XD
...most of the time I managed to get on and poke the internet, you poked me back, and that made me quite happy a number of times throughout the year. So thankyou. *hugs*

Will let you know when I post it off ^^

Covenants

on 2007-12-23 07:51 am (UTC)...actually I already have Covenants and its sequel. They're uber shiny. Am interested in seeing the author explore more of the world.
Got my mum to get me Hero as a Xmas pressie today when I ran across it in Angus and Robertson's. Seems very intriguing.
As for Brethren...unfortunately I can't find any Australian stores who are selling...I can ship it with Amazon but it generally costs twice the price of the book
lesson learned from last yearI really enjoy my books with slash...or even just gen(which means gen without romance, which soooo many people do not seem to understand when you are labelling/talking about stories, het romance is still romance and thus not gen darn stupid stupids*cough* Pet peeve/rant. Het romance in novels has been bugging me round the bend recently (female=utter twit, love=bashed over reader's head with a 2x4, romance=utter pain).*coughs*
Unlike you, who seems to organise herself rather quickly...I kinda lost track of time due to a number of events I had to help prepare...so it's going to be late. I'm off to the post office tomorrow (which is a week later than I was planning). Hopefully they'll have a box the right size for your pressie. Shoould probably expect it within a month...*sigh*
*Hugs*

on 2007-12-25 03:53 pm (UTC)I hope you like Heroes! I did. :D
Brethren...yeah, is ridiculously hard to buy. Pretty much the only way is to order online, which I did, but if shipping is going to be that insane, I wouldn't do it. Um, maybe someone will sell a used copy you can get somewhere?
No worries about the present--you're way too nice. ♥ Is it going to my school or home address?

on 2008-01-06 07:44 am (UTC)(I don't really care about the romance unless it takes over the actual plot and/or the the romance is completely and utterly false/unbelievable/sickening and/or I don't like the female character (for a variety of reasons)
Heroes was ever so fun. It was a failry typical young adult book but with a lot of neat twists and turns that derailed it from the stereotype. Despite a lack of description for a number of things in the novel, it still engaged you and your emotions and left the various details to your own imagination. Definitely worth a re-read soon.
Australia needs better online stores I swear...I'd really like it to have an amazon.com.au so I can get cheap 2nd hand books online without the arm and a leg shipping. Will look into the 2nd hand thing. Might be a gay theme book store I can stalk in Sydney somewhere...if I manage to work up the courage to do so.
Umm...I sent the pressie off...a couple of days ago now and the post woman told me it should arrive in 1-2 weeks and I'd put your school address (C Hill...etc)as I thought you'd be back at it by then, but then I had 2nd thoughts. But it has been sent and you should get it when you go back to school.
(I really need a world school/uni time comparison sheet)
Just hope you like it.
Oh, and I got your card. It's so cute and sweet. Thankyou very much. As per usual feel free to ignore my own babbling/rambling.
