Rant...or not...

People should keep their bad language to themselves!!!
OK, so that's a bit general, though it would be nice if every 3rd word out of my little sister and her friends mouth wasn't a swear word...but I digress.
Why do people have to ruin a perfectly civilised forum discussion by using swear words?
I mean, it can't be the shock value. These days there is none.
I know it's a bit of an over the top reaction, but people just randomly swearing at my opinion makes me angry. I mean if it was just the poster's personality I could probably live with it. But no. From what I can see my post is the only one they swore at (in the recent past).
I didn't even really have that much of a strong opinion about the debate, but now...
Now I have to fight the urge to surf the web to find evidence to prove everything the other person has said is wrong (I already told you that it was an extreme reaction). It just really offends me.
I will NOT sink to their level.
I am a civilised person and other people are welcome to their opinions...
They just don't have the right to swear at mine!!!
...Just a little piece of history to go with my dislike of swearing:
Unlike many of my friends, I didn't start using swear words until my last year of high school when the stress would drive me into a depressed fit over my total inability to cope.
I found it really strange entering high school that everyone could swear so casually all the time.
(My little sister has been swearing since she entered primary school...what does that say about the public schooling system huh?)
Even now, they're rarely used words in my vocabulary, though I'm happy to include it in my writing and stuff if it creates the right mood.
I am in no way pointing fingers. I am not offended by other people (with the exception of my little sister) casually swearing in everyday conversation, and in fact don't notice it most of the time.
It's just the circumsatnces that got me riled.
Rightio, I'm feeling much more my usual self now and have almost entirely lost the urge to verbally tear into this person.
Sorry that this was an angry update.
