Onepiece...is it worth it?
Feb. 18th, 2006 01:32 amHello folks,
Just dropping by for some advice...
Anyway, OnePiece started on commercial TV the other day, looks interesting enough (though some of the dubbing is killing me and I've heard that the dubbing company did an excellent job of mangling it), so I was wondering if it was worth it to download the sub?
I am of course, slowly working my way through the manga, but yeah...
Advice Please.

on 2006-02-21 01:45 pm (UTC)I know it's reeeally bad, but characters are just more alive for me if they're on the tv screen or I read them in an actual "book". For some strange reason manga characters just aren't as alive for me...I think it may be the fact that they'r ein black and white and they already have set parametres as to what they're like, so my imagination can't just work randomly to create the characters.
...I've heard there are over 270 episodes...
That was an exaggeration? Riiight?

on 2006-02-21 02:22 pm (UTC)Actually, I'd recommend the anime as well, it's just that they take a bit longer(they've currently made it to 300 episodes I think)
While the anime does seem lively(And their fillers are quite nice to watch, and that you may find the characters to be a bit too lively in the future) the manga does the same job of making the characters seem lively as well.
But do try them out, don't let the artworks put you out, the colour scheme of the anime is quite good(Especially the blue seas)
