Ok, no more foxes as yet, and was just dragged through the wringer so you get this.
Ludwig II
MINOR SPOILERAGE
This manga is sweet fluffy romance coating a solid core of angst that weighs you down and drags your heart out through your throat, or equivalentally squeezes the tears from your eyes.
The story follows the Ludwig II, the King of Bavaria. His disillusionment with reality and his ever-deepening connection with insanity. He is totally captivated by wagner's opera's, and seeks the same perfection in the world around him, always to his disappointment.
Early in in the King's courtship of fantasy, he has a run in with honest Richard Hornig, the stable master who swears everlasting loyalty to the king, even as the King takes other lovers and attempts to push him away.
Of course political scheming of the time, combined with his own degenerating grasp on reality, end up with him declared legally insane by individuals in his own government, people he believed were his friends, working with Prussia towards the unification of Germany.
It all ends with his death and the devastation of his still and ever devoted Hornig.
...and no this is pretty much not spoilerage as you learn he dies in the first chapter, and there's 3 volumes, go figure.
If you are an angst!whore *cough*lil blossom*cough* and you haven't read it, you should.
The angst may be laid on a bit too thickly at times, but it's overall well done with nice art, the mangaka being You Higuri.
Oh well, I hope you can enjoy it.
Now off to bed.
