Heyhoo!
I am extremely pleased to announce that I am finally in possession of my computer once again.
And shock of all shocks, this time it WORKS!
*clings to CPU and refuses to let go*
And do you know what the problem was? It was the very small converter for the usb port mouse to fit a ps2 port. So very frustrating.
...that and the fact that the 300watt power supply wasn't enough to support 300gb hard drive
300 gb!
*chuckles evilly*
Yes, I just like to repeat that as before this incident I was running on 5gb free space in my 40 gb hard drive all the time.
Oh yeah, and the actual reason for this post...
I have in the works a very long FujiRyo story that has been my thought baby for the last year, but only now am I doing something about it, and I realised I have only the barest knowledge of the japanese school system, when the school year commences, how long the days are, the structure of the school day, etc.
As such, I am begging of my friends to please share their knowledge with me, or direct me to any appropriate sites they know for this kind of info.
HELP PLEASE!
Thanks.
Arccie

on 2006-07-27 10:05 am (UTC)300GB? I envy you.... Mine's like nearly half of yours...
Well for school stuff I'm not too sure, but I know that School usually starts in April and ends on the end of March. Strange huh?

on 2006-07-29 02:16 pm (UTC)150-ish gb isn't half bad. Space to keep at least a couple of series to watch on your hard drive.
...I was working off a 40gb hard drive. It was hell, as with all the programs and stuff the rest of my family had put on, I was lucky to have had 15gb free space, and then with my stuff I was lucky to be working off 8gb free space. 300gb seems almost too much by comparison.
Starts in April and ends at the end of March? As in the end of end of March? I'm just slightly confused at this point as I have different sources saying the long holiday is a month and others saying it's 6 weeks, and even if it's only a month long wouldn't you still be starting in May?
Can you clarify any of my confusion?
Thanks for the info anyway, I'm muddling my way through.

on 2006-07-29 04:57 pm (UTC)(I download yaoi mangas daily if possible, and then some BL anime as well, also other normal animes/mangas, and then I've a touch for music too, plus lots of pictures, and that messing with PSD files and 3D work is enough to kill my PC, plus I also play BL games that's sometimes installed on the PC, and recently I'm into BL Dramas that's like the size of one anime .avi episode....... Lol)
Well, I dreally don't know, but I'm sure they start school in April.

on 2006-08-07 03:22 pm (UTC)I really really really want to write this, but I don't want it to be a crummy effort where it basically reads as an australianised version of japan
When you say differ from school to school, what does that mean?
Thanks for the links, they seem like they'll be very useful...though now I'm slightly more confused than ever.
It basically says that the school year finishes at the end of March and starts again at the beginning of April.
Does that mean that they go straight from one school year to next? What about the 1 month summer holiday I read about elsewhere...wait, never mind, just realised August follows July not September...but still this school year end and beginning has me stumped.
*cups hands to mouth*
Here info info info, don't you want to help me? Where's the nice info? Come on info, come on.
*coughs*
...ok, so I may be slightly insane...
